"People helping people" is always a beautiful thing and it's how I was able to meet such a wonderful family for this 50th anniversary event. MaryAnn and Ken contacted me after being referred by the woman who did the flowers for MY wedding (Bartlett Florists, Clifton NJ) and I'm so glad that our paths crossed!
MaryAnn and Ken currently live in Florida but originally hail from New Jersey and decided that they should head back to their home state to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Family and friends made room in their schedules to travel to the Upper Montclair Country Club from Florida, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey to come celebrate with the happy couple and I can certainly see why! Their love for their friends and family was ever present throughout the event as MaryAnn and Ken reminisced about years gone by and as they proudly announced each of their grandchildren to their guests.
The majority of the day was spent gathered amongst friends just enjoying each others company but the couple did give us all a treat when they called everyone to the main room for their "first dance" to their original wedding song. After that we headed out of the clubhouse to take photos on the grand golf course on what turned out to be a beautiful summer evening.
It was a wonderful evening that I was so lucky to be a part of. After 50 years together, they still looked just as in love as they did in their original wedding photos and that is something that I hope all of my couples (and me and my husband!) can all experience in their futures. All the best, MaryAnn and Ken, and here's to another 50 years!
